Your wellbeing matters to us

At Malvern HE Partnerships, your wellbeing is central to your success. We know that higher education brings exciting opportunities as well as new pressures, and our team is here to support you every step of the way.

Whether you’re managing academic challenges, adjusting to life in a new place, or navigating personal, financial, or health concerns, you can be confident that someone is ready to listen and help.

If you’d like to talk to someone, you can easily arrange a conversation with a member of our team. We’re here to ensure you feel supported, connected, and never on your own.

Emotional and mental health support

Everyone faces challenges from time to time. If you or a friend are finding things difficult, please speak with a member of your centre team — we are here to help.

Additional resources include:

Personal care

While we cannot provide personal care (such as help with washing, cooking, or dressing), your centre team can signpost you to local agencies that offer these services. Costs will need to be covered by the student.

If you have questions about your individual support needs, please contact your centre and we will direct your enquiry to the right person.

Healthcare in the UK

Students registered for full-time courses of six months or more are eligible for NHS healthcare on the same basis as UK residents. This includes:

  • Registering with a GP (local doctor)

  • Access to hospital care

  • Treatment for pre-existing conditions

  • Full maternity services

Please note:

  • Dental and optical services are usually paid for privately.

  • You may be eligible for financial support with healthcare costs if you are on a low income, see the NHS website for details.

Students studying for fewer than six months will need to pay for all healthcare and are strongly advised to obtain health insurance before arriving in the UK.

Practising your faith

The UK is a multi-faith society where students of all religions are welcome. Our partner universities provide multi-faith chaplaincy services, and many public places offer prayer rooms. Your centre team will introduce you to these facilities during your induction.

Supporting each other

One of our greatest strengths is the support students give one another. Sharing your experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives enriches the whole community.

Getting involved in social activities, clubs, societies, and events is a great way to meet new people, build connections, and settle into life here.
